The Association of Public Health Inspectors has requested the government to isolate the Western Province until 1st of January.
The public health inspectors have also demanded that travel restrictions should be imposed on other districts.
They point out that the areas around Colombo Municipal Council are high risk areas for the spread of the corona virus.
They also warn that the virus could spread further as people travel to other districts to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
