The wife of a male patient who was a resident of Cancer Unit – Ward 56 of Karapitiya Teaching Hospital Galle has been diagnosed with coronavirus today (17).
This woman who is from Sooriyawewa has stayed in the women’s ward and taken care of her husband since there is no one to stay near the patient and as she lives far away.
According to hospital sources, all the patients staying in the ward and those who are for patient’s care has been directed for PCR tests. The hospital’s deputy director said, they had decided to stop admitting patients to the respective ward. Meanwhile, the health staff of the ward have been instructed to conduct PCR tests if they wish, said by the staff.
